1. Exclusive Inpatient Pediatric Neurology Service: We are the only pediatric neurology service in Southern
Nevada—covering Las Vegas, Kingman, Death Valley, and Bishop—offering inpatient services through Sunrise
Children’s Hospital and Mountain View Hospital. If our coverage were to cease, there would be no in-person
pediatric neurology care available in this entire geographic area.
2. One of the Oldest and Largest Pediatric Neurology Practices in Las Vegas: With one of the oldest and largest
pediatric neurology practices in the city, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care, seeing the highest
number of patients, and employing the largest provider team.
3. Referral Hub for Complex Cases: We are recognized for providing the highest level of pediatric neurology care
in the region, as evidenced by the frequent referrals we receive for complex conditions such as epilepsy and neuromuscular diseases.
4. Pioneers in Pediatric Neurology Programs:
o We established the state’s first pediatric inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit at Sunrise Children’s
Hospital.
o We launched Nevada's first and only Duchenne muscular dystrophy gene replacement program at
Sunrise Hospital.
o We initiated the state’s first and only spinal muscular atrophy gene replacement program at UMC.
5. Partnership with State Health Initiatives:
o We work closely with the Nevada Public Health Laboratory and the Nevada Newborn Screening
Program, serving as the primary referral center for any child with a positive screening.
o Dr. Chavda serves as members of the Nevada Rare Disease Advisory Committee and the Board of the
Epilepsy Foundation of Nevada and Newborn screening program for Nevada.
6. Specialized Care for Neuromuscular Diseases: We are the only pediatric neurology group in the region that
accepts patients with deadly pediatric neuromuscular diseases (SMA and DMD), providing critical services to
this vulnerable population.
7. Dual Board Certification: Both Dr. Chavda and Dr. Jiang are dual board-certiβied in Pediatric Neurology and
Epilepsy, ensuring the highest standards of care for our patients.
8. Exclusive Outpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU): Our outpatient Day-EMU program offers a unique,
cost-effective alternative to inpatient care for epilepsy patients, further enhancing accessibility and
affordability for families in need.

o We offer a charity/reduced fee schedule for patients from low-income backgrounds.
o We collaborate closely with Nevada Medicaid Pharmacy to ensure access to newly approved
medications for pediatric neurology patients.
10. Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) Treatment: We are actively working with the Nevada Department of Health to
create protocols for treating children with adrenoleukodystrophy, ensuring that the latest treatments and care
pathways are available to our patients.
